MULTI-FACETED CARE
We strive to not only treat the symptom of pain but also address the underlying constitutional and structural imbalances for long term well-being. When appropriate, our acupuncturists and massage therapists work in collaboration to combine both clinical perspectives and approaches to create the most effective individualized action plan to address your pain on systemic and root levels. Many of our current patients will alternate between acupuncture and massage treatments and find that the combination of multiple therapies is the most effective.

ACUPUNCTURE FOR PAIN
There is an understanding that the physical and emotional body work in partnership. For example, muscles will hold tension in response to a mind at stress. It is said that a person experiencing chronic pain for three months has a nervous system in a heightened response altering brain chemistry. Pain becomes a part of who you are.
Research has shown that acupuncture calms the areas of the brain associated with pain, stimulates parts of the nervous system associated with rest and recovery, increases blood flow to the treated area, and reduces inflammation. In our acupuncture sessions, we also guide and empower you with mindset tools to heighten your stress resilience empowering you on your healing journey ultimately heightening your quality of life. The mind-body connection is an integral part of the treatments.
There have been many studies proving acupuncture’s effectiveness on various types of pain from low back, knee and neck pain, from
surgery recovery to relief from migraines, and the list goes on! It is worth noting that the studies use the same acupuncture point prescriptions on each person, while the beauty of Chinese medicine is that treatments are customized based on a person’s unique patterns and imbalances, meaning acupuncture is likely even more effective than the studies show. Acupuncture’s credibility has grown as Western medicine has sought alternatives to pain killers due to our nation’s opioid crisis.
