ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is the foundation of Source Healing. The vital energy that is essential for good health is highly responsive to this natural and effective medical system that is over 2000 years old. It is a disruption in the flow of vital energy that is the origin of disease and disharmony in the body.

WHY SOURCE HEALING FOR ACUPUNCTURE?
At Source Healing, you are truly getting a one of a kind experience. From the one-on-one consultation to our custom herbal apothecary, our acupuncturists tailor each treatment to your specific needs. That's why we offer no "packages" or "programs" at Source Healing. We believe that you are unique, and therefore come with your own set of unique disharmonies. As your body begins to shift and change, so will our treatments. You will embark on a healing path that teaches you how to care for yourself and live a vibrant, fruitful life. At Source Healing, you're coming in for the quality service, you're coming in for the personal relationship you build with your acupuncturist - you're coming in for the care, plain and simple.

But don't worry, we have qualifications too! Our acupuncturists are all national board certified by the NCCAOM, licensed by the state of Illinois, and have Master's Degrees in Oriental Medicine. But beyond our qualifications and experience, we are a dynamic team of acupuncturists who have a passion for this healing art and it comes through in the quality of our treatments. We take the time to be thorough and complete in each session and we do it with integrity and heart. We also work as a tight group, so if your acupuncturist is not available at the time you are requesting, another acupuncturist will be available to give you a great acupuncture treatment. As a modern medicine, we use only disposable needles.

INITIAL TREATMENT: In the initial treatment, our acupuncture sessions include a thorough evaluation and intake to determine the Root Diagnosis or Root Cause of the body's disharmony and manifesting complaints. Based on this Root Diagnosis, the practitioner will pick points in the body to balance out and harmonize this root disharmony. Because this is a full service treatment, the practitioner will also recommend oriental food therapy as well as other suggestions to assist in the maintenance of the body's harmony.

FOLLOWING VISITS: In the following visits, the practitioner will assess where you are in your progress, make tailored adjustments to your treatments as you continue to progress. Within the first 5 visits, your practitioner will determine the course of treatments based on your response.

AURICULAR ACUPUNCTURE:
Ear acupuncture isa tool used in addiction treatment centers all around the world. It is an effective tool for any form of detoxification and withdrawal symptoms, whether it is from alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, or food addictions. It is also great for stress relief. It is common to receive 2-3 ear acupuncture sessions a week when working with withdrawal or stress. We offer this as an a la cart service, or it can be incorporated into a regular acupuncture session in the initial and following visits.

ELECTRO ACUPUNCTURE:
Electrical acupuncture units similar to Tens units are hooked up to the needles to stimulate points.

KORYO HAND ACUPUNCTURE:
the Koreans believed that the hands are a microcosm of the human body. The corresponding hand points are needled to affect the overall health of the body.

LASER ACUPUNCTURE:
The use of a low-level laser beam instead of an acupuncture needle to stimulate an acupuncture point.

SCALP ACUPUNCTURE:
A specialized form of acupuncture that is used to treat spinal cord injuries and neurological disorders. Needles are inserted in certain points on the scalp to stimulate movement in the spine and/or the affected area.

SPORTS ACUPUNCTURE:
This acupuncture focuses on acute and chronic musculo-skeletal pain and injuries that are common to athletes. Instead of coming in for an overall body treatment, clients can come in for quick half hour sessions to treat specific ailments they might be experiencing from exercise, a sports injury, or even muscle strain. The acupuncture needles are inserted along the meridian points where the pain is concentrated. Clients typically experience relief after two to three treatments.
